For the longest time I protected the notion that I am not a professional photographer, almost defensively, as if someone accusing me of being one would endanger the almost spiritual connection I have with photography as an art.
Photography lets me see my world differently. Through the lens of my camera, I see a world where I'm not defined by my day job, my cultural heritage, or the ramblings within my mind; but understood by who I am when I live true to my passions. I always keep my camera and lenses close by to remind me of this.
And every time I look at my world through them, amongst other things, I'm a photographer too.
